Cleaning and Maintenance of the Controlled Cooler

Plate coolers are composed of tube bundles and have relatively large weight and volume. Therefore, when performing maintenance and tube removal, a distance equal to the length of the tube bundle must be reserved, resulting in a larger footprint. Additionally, necessary lifting and maintenance facilities are required, making the maintenance process relatively complicated and time-consuming.
The design life of shell-and-tube coolers is approximately 30 years, with a major overhaul cycle of about 4 years. If the heat exchanger leaks, it may be due to leakage between the tubes and tube sheets or tube rupture. Tube plugging can be used to restore operational performance in a short time. Shell-and-tube coolers allow a plugging margin of 7%. For plate coolers, internal tube cleaning can be performed periodically using a gel ball cleaning device as needed, which is a relatively simple maintenance method.
Maintenance methods for shell-and-tube coolers:
Professional shell-and-tube coolers feature small size and light weight, making maintenance convenient. They do not require lifting facilities for maintenance, so they occupy less installation space. Manual maintenance of shell-and-tube coolers includes disassembling the entire unit, cleaning the plates and gaskets with a water spray gun and brush, inspecting the plates and gaskets, and replacing them if necessary.
Shell-and-tube coolers generally require cleaning once a year, regardless of actual need, to maintain heat exchanger efficiency. When using cooling water of poor quality such as river or seawater, the presence of sediment, dirt, and rapid microbial growth poses risks of surface fouling and blockage. Abroad, when river water is used as cooling water, cleaning frequency is very high, averaging 3.3 times per year. Therefore, when selecting water sources for heat exchangers, cleaner water sources should be chosen to prevent damage to the heat exchanger and reduce unnecessary cleaning, thereby saving costs.

Installation foundation of the heat exchanger
The installation foundation for manufacturing heat exchangers is mainly used for the horizontal installation of the heat exchanger, the connection of pipelines, and the future maintenance of the heat exchanger.
Precautions during routine inspection of the cooler
Mentioning air coolers, they are seen relatively less in our daily lives, but they still have very important uses in some industries or large-scale buildings. There are many things to pay attention to during the regular inspection of coolers. So, what exactly needs to be noted? Please follow the professional technical staff below for an introduction.
Selection of Heat Exchanger Plates
After confirming the heat exchanger area, the plate needs to be selected. Currently, most heat exchanger manufacturers use herringbone corrugated plates.
